I had ton of fun discovering the idiosyncrasies of shooting 360-degree video. Because we never intended it to be shown in VR, we found ourselves looking for fun patterns and environments that would look good mapped into the standard rectangular video space. And a large part of the process was involving the artist in the cinematography, because when we were shooting 360, he was the one holding the camera; the crew couldn’t be anywhere in sight. Mixing conventional and 360 footage was interesting, but we managed to tell the story effectively and experiment with the medium at the same time.
